About Dar Dar

Hi I am Dar Dar and this is not your mothers cook book. Like most of my friends who grew up in the 50'and 60s, we never learned how to cook. Back in the day, stay at home Moms had dinner on the table at 6 oclock and the table was set according to Betty Crockers specifications.  When we married or set out on our own, we were clueless. There was no Julia Child, no Emeril, no Food Channel, no Rachel Ray, no Internet recipes and no take out other than McDonalds.
As a new bride in 1972 I tried to cook without much success. My mother-in-law was a great cook. I watched, listened and asked questions. It took a few years but I started to get the idea. My in-laws had a bar and I really started to learn how to make all kinds of dishes due to the fact we had mostly bachelors for customers so we made homemade dinners for them.  My current mother-in-law is also a great cook, Grace thank you for your input of recipes and encouragement I love you.  My most loving acknowledgement goes to my husband Pat of 28 years. Thank you for loving my food and your kindness when it wasnt so good. You gently say this is missing something or I dont like this in it or next time you should do this.  Thank You for all your love, support and encouragement.  I couldnhave done it without you.  To my son Brian, whom this idea this was in the first place. I dont think he knew what he was getting into. To Chelle Bliss I sure could not have done this book without you , I am forever grateful. I Thank you for your guidance, encouragement and help with this book.  Lastly I would like to thank all my family and friends who contributed their favorite recipes to this endeavor to make this all possible.
